What the labels don't tell you
Euki
Named to Mozilla *Privacy Not Included's “Best Of” category — the only period app to receive it. No account; data stored locally.

Dew
Made by the author of this index. No account; cycle data stays on-device or in the user's own private iCloud. The Usage Data/Diagnostics declaration above is an anonymous, opt-out counter — it is why Dew does not qualify for “Data Not Collected”.
Flo
Settled an FTC complaint in 2021 over allegations it shared health data with third parties despite promising not to. Settled with no fine and no admission of wrongdoing.
Methodology, and what this can't tell you
Every row was read directly from the app's App Store product page on — from the structured privacy-label data Apple publishes on the listing itself, not from a summary of it. The apps were chosen as the period, cycle and fertility trackers most visible on the US App Store, plus the privacy-focused ones that appear in independent reviews.
The limit, stated plainly: App Store privacy labels are declared by the developer, and Apple does not audit them. This index reports what each app says it does. That is a real and checkable thing — a public, on-the-record commitment with consequences if it's false — but it is not an independent audit of behaviour. The 2021 FTC action against Flo was about exactly that gap.
A label is also only as current as its date. Apps update their declarations, so every row carries the date it was read, and any row is only good as of that date.
Conflict of interest: I make Dew, which is in the table. It is scored by the same criteria as everything else and it does not come first — Euki and drip both declare “Data Not Collected” and Dew does not, because Dew sends an anonymous, opt-out usage counter. You should weigh this index knowing who wrote it, and you can check every cell yourself in about ten minutes by opening the linked listings.

- Do App Store privacy labels prove what an app actually does?
- No. Privacy labels are declared by the developer and Apple does not independently audit them. What a label proves is what a company has publicly committed to on the record — which is checkable and carries consequences if false, but is not the same as an audit. The 2021 FTC action against Flo concerned exactly this gap between what an app promised and what it did.
- Is Dew included in its own index?
- Yes, scored the same way as every other app, and it does not come first. Dew declares "Data Not Linked to You" for Usage Data and Diagnostics — an anonymous, opt-out usage counter — so it does not qualify for the "Data Not Collected" tier that Euki and drip reach. That is a real difference and it is recorded as one.
